Dance Streamers Tutorial

So I learned this from someone else, who I am sure learned it from someone.....
The point is-  MAKING streamers for dance or Color Guard Routines is much more cost effective than BUYING dance streamers, and bottom line - they are way easy!

First off:
Supplies!

  • You will need dowels. (Whatever you want in size, 5/8 inch to 1 inch around works well)
  • 3 inch satin double sided ribbon. ( ) Gifts International seems to have the best prices.
  • eye bolts
  • small drill bit (to drill pilot hole for the eyebolt)
  • Grommet tool (honestly Harbor Freight has a cheap one!)
  • Fishing Swivels
  • Split ring key rings
  •  tool to burn ends of ribbon
This is such a simple process, and I have a tutorial on Youtube right here

Basic instructions are this:

  1. Cut dowels to length you want for handles
  2. drill pilot hole for eye bolts
  3. screw in eye bolts (this is of course at the end of the dowel)
  4. to the eye bolt attach the fishing swivel.
  5. Pinch tight with pliers (you don't want to have this come off)
  6. Cut streamers to length desired (I find anywhere from 11-13 feet works perfect)
  7. create a point with the ribbon and add the grommet following the directions on the package (you will have to cut the ribbons with scissors to get the hole to be right)
  8. Burn all edges of the ribbon (top and bottom)
  9. attach split key ring through grommet hole, and then attach to the fishing swivel
  10. DANCE AND ENJOY!!!
