Personal Moment in Clarity

I wanted to share this amazing lesson in people skills-  See who you know falls in this category- or maybe it is you.....

Many people who deal with struggles in their lives and careers, read and hear about deserve level– or are told they are not self motivated enough to succeed in their goals-  although these are valid points

But

What if there is a missing link….

Some people care more about value than anything else.

 Not monetary but emotional.

These people rarely care about the cars they drive, they rarely focus on the balance in their bank account.  They are motivated by their VALUE in others lives, jobs or organizations.  They struggle most with being self employed because they are used to getting their value from a boss or a supervisor. 

It is not recognition. 

It is simply emotional value.  They relentlessly deal with “not enough” programming. 

They battle with “taking things personal” because when they hear “you didn’t do enough”  they internalize “you are not enough”, thus constantly struggling with the “NOT ENOUGH STUFF” syndrome.

When a number is assigned to a goal or even a task and  they fall short– they hear “it’s not enough”  therefore they have lost their value as a human being. 

Even though it’s the goal or task they failed in not being a human being– They fail to see the difference 

These people tend to work best with pats on the head.  They need a simple thank you.  They want to feel people value them as a person not just as an employee/member.

It is critical to keep the value in WHO they are not WHAT they do.

Ask them have you done your best?  If they answer yes, let it go.  If they say no THEY WILL figure it out. 

Value people will find value without help.  They must.  It is a life force for them.

They are all personality types– they are all walks of life-

Excited to have a new value “source”

Hits an obstacle– gets told/finds they are not enough– lose value in the source

Search for a NEW Value source– even as simple as cleaning their house organizing a closet to find value

Finds new activity/source of value.  At this point, the person NEEDS to rediscover WHERE they had found value in previous task/job/goal or they will be lost possibly forever.

Tamara Drew isn't Dribble-

This British film is fun and cute, but most men will hate it.  I know, I know I lost them at British Film-

But it is a delightful peak into a small English town and the activities that unfold when a beautiful girl Tamara Drewe (played by Gemma Arterton) returns to her home town. 

Although the story is really not about that- it is about two teens obsessed with a rock star and the ridiculous things they do to get near him.

But really it isn’t about that either- it is about a writers retreat on a delightful little farm.  It tells of a stuck writer and how he finds his muse.

Then again, it isn’t about that either- it is more about the strapping handy man Andy Cobb played by Luke Evens (can I hear an Amen!)  and his life long crush on the girl next door.

But really- it is about more than just that-

Fun witty and delightful- if the guy has to sit through it, I recommend turning on the subtitles to keep him from falling asleep.  If it is just the girls-  I think you will love it!

Middle Men-

Middle men staring Luke Wilson and Giovanni Ribisi is a fabulous movie well suited for men and women alike.


Rather you love the adult industry or hate it; this based on a true story film covers the BEGINNING of internet porn and the two guys who were too high and too smart for their own good.

Although this film received very mixed (being polite here) reviews, I really feel they are wrong. The story moves fast enough to keep my attention. The actors actually acted (I know novel concept) and since the internet has obviously taken off (this blog case in point) the back ground story about how some stupid brainiac with too much cocaine figured out how to charge credit cards over the internet and make a billion feels pretty relevant.

I know I know, BUT IT HAS PORN IN IT! Actually I think that is why it got so many poor reviews – IT DOESN’T!

I mean sure there are topless women, but Showtime and HBO all but show bare bosoms in their station logos. The Adult Industry, although very relevant to the film doesn’t really play as big of a role in the ACTUAL FILM as some would expect. Yes it is referenced, yes it is implicated all over the place including a scene at the AVF Awards in Vegas, but overall they don’t put an unnecessary amount of it in the film.

Needless to say, I liked it. I felt Luke Wilson did and excellent job in his role. Giovanni Ribisi of course rocked it, even though when this whole idea struck his character, he was still guest staring on Wonder Years. James Caan plays a seedy attorney who, “Never goes to court and never wears a tie,” which tells anyone considering this film it is worth a watch.

Now it is edgy, it does have some darker parts, but over all it is a really good movie.

Great Lesson on People Skills

This is a wonderful explaination.  I found it very helpful!

The American - Please Deport this!

The American  George Clooney typically saves even the worst script- but not today.  This film captures the viewer in the very beginning.  The action is filled with questions and suspense.  The problem is none get answered.  I love intense thrillers making the viewer focus on the small details.  I thrive in trying to put the pieces of a well written script together however this film fell short in so many areas I felt like I missed twenty minutes in the beginning and somehow got a clipped copy because even the end left too many questions. 

I rarely suggest passing on a film completely.  Ok, I didn't used to suggest passing completely, but lately there have been a few pieces that made me scratch my head and ask- "What?"

Scott Pilgrim VS the World- Tomorrows Classic Today!

Ok, so I am sure most people may think my little prediction should make me certifiably insane, but ...
Every generation has  their cult classic films-  Rocky Horror- Wayne's World- Every thing by John Hughes- And I am predicting this will go down as one of those films-
Creatively done- entertaining in a completely different way, Micheal Cera portrays a boy named Scott Pilgrim (based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley) must defeat his new girlfriends seven evil Exes in order to keep her for his own- 
A well written script leads to cute lines, dry humor and quirky action that makes the audience stay put-  Honestly, it is a good one to watch- I wouldn't say it is up for an Oscar but it is definitely worth your time- let your older teens watch it- I have a feeling they will laugh way louder than you.

The Expendables- Wow this proves how bored some people are-

 Starring Sylvester Stallone is my pick for WORST movie of 2010!  Hands down!  I love action- I love inconceivable gun fights and car chases and when the hero somehow juggles the car, catches the gun and saves the girl all while shooting a machine gun and taking out the bad guys- BUT I have a FEW little requirements-  I expect a few GOOD lines- I expect to be entertained- I expect a story that at least sort of keeps my interest.

I have sat through some horrid movies.  I have tolerated trying to find some shred of decent acceptable piece of pretty T-totalled doomed films-  This really is in my top 5 worst movies of all time.  Not just because Sylvester Stallone was a corny as a Nebraska field- not just because the writers obviously told the actors to just "wing it"- but because even Jason Statham couldn't salvage this complete piece of crap-

The plot is so pathetic if I even begin to tell you about it - you would have no point of seeing the film- then again- you don't already!

Don't waste your time- not even your $1 at Redbox-
